How to support and energise the immune system with immunity enhancing herbals, improve digestion and to provide antiviral support. Navigating the Covid19 challenge and restoring health for ourselves and our communities.
We asked Dr Arora what he would recommend people take to help at this stage and he replied:
“Clearly, people at this time need more support.” He went on to explain that the need is threefold:
- To support and energise the immune system with immunity enhancing herbals.
- To improve digestion as the digestive system is responsible for 70% of immune cell production.
- To provide antiviral support and adaptogens support during this time of increased stress.
Then Dr Arora recommended a herbal regimen to support all three areas. We have these in stock and can get them to you quickly. The recommended herbals are:
1. Energising and immunity enhancing herbals
- Dalchini and Kaunch beej.
- Take 1/5th of a tsp in a little warm water 15 to 30 minutes before breakfast and evening meals.
2. Improving digestive fire to support the production of healthy immune cells to enhance support and protection by taking the following combination after meals
- Praval Panchamrit.
- Chirayata.
3. Antiviral properties & adaptogens
- Neem powder.
- Daruhaldi.
How to take
Take the digestive, antiviral and adaptogen herbs after breakfast and evening meals.
Here’s how to do it:
Pour all the powders into the same container and mix the dry powders. That is, pour the powders of Praval Panchamrit, Punarnava, Chirayata, Yashad bhasma, Neem powder and Daruhaldi into the same container and mix thoroughly. Then take 1/3 tsp of the herbal mixture and mix with a 1/4 cup of warm to comfortably hot water. Drink this mixture 15-30 minutes after breakfast and evening meals.
About the herbals:
Dalchini (cinnamomum zeylanicum) comes from the bark of several trees of the Cinnamon genus. This aromatic and warming spice helps to rev up the digestion as it has warming properties. It also helps cleanse the gastrointestinal tract while strengthening digestion, improving absorption and supporting healthy blood sugar levels. It is also traditionally used to help warm, soothe and clear out the airways and promote healthy circulation and joints. Because it helps strengthen digestion and absorption it can help prevent the build-up of impurities or “ama” in the first place, while supporting healthy circulation.

Kaunch Beej (Mucuna Pruriens) comes from a seedpod from the Kapikacchu herb. Sweet, bitter and hot it is slightly oily and is known to balance all three doshas. It has many uses and is used traditionally to help provide proper nourishment to the body and thereby increase strength and immunity.

It has a carminative nature helping to remove congestion and mucus accumulation in the respiratory tract and is traditionally used to support, strengthen and treat imbalances of the respiratory system and helps to clear the airways. It helps to reduce excessive inflammation in the joints and organs and stimulates healthy blood production.

Neem Powder (Azadirachta indica) comes from a fast-growing and hardy evergreen tree. Neem has anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-diabetic, antiviral and antiparasitic properties. Traditionally used to balance Pitta and Kapha imbalances, Neem is used to boost immune health, to support normal blood pressure, to support healthy cholesterol levels and to help protect the body from infection and fever.
