Prepare for the New Year
As the new year beckons with Christmas time providing some days of holiday, consider taking a moment to prepare for the new year.
Here are some tips to help you prepare:
Be Present
Have you noticed that when you are in the company of someone who is completely present to what you are saying, with their full attention, interested and ‘in your world’, what a gift it is!
Sometimes the most important gift we can give or receive is loving attention. If we can offer loving attention without judgement then even better. Sometimes it can be helpful to walk a mile in the shoes of the person we are listening too.
As you prepare for the new year, be present to your loved ones and when you experience someone giving you the gift of their full attention, express gratitude and make their day! Receiving undivided attention and giving undivided attention is one of the most important gifts we can give to each other.
Tip:
Imbalance of Vata dosha can make it difficult to focus and be present. As the drying quality of Vata dosha moves upwards into the brain cells via the cerebrospinal fluid you may find your attention wanders, memory can be changeable and your sleep may be affected. Cultivation of peace, ability to focus, alertness, contentment and tranquillity can waver or be hard to maintain.
Peace of Mind (1401)
To support your ability to be present with natural calmness, focus, alertness and in a decisive fashion take Peace of Mind (MA1401) 1-2 tablets after your breakfast and evening meals.
The herbs in Peace of Mind are combined in exact proportions and prepared in the traditional Ayurvedic way providing a benefit that is much greater than that of the individual herbs.

Consider asking yourself …
- What do you like doing the most?

These questions help to ensure your heart and mind are in alignment as you move into 2020. A well-coordinated heart and mind give you a head start in preparing for a great 2020.
Sadhaka, a subdosha of Pitta is key to a well-coordinated heart and mind. Sadhaka governs the ability to “digest” intellectual information, enjoy clear perception and guides your experience of feelings and emotions. Sadhaka resides in the heart which is also considered the seat of consciousness, the home of the spirit. On the physical level Sadhaka assists in the regulation of the rhythm of the heartbeat, balances the emotions (in particular the fiery emotions when one feels thwarted, irritated, impatient or angry), and allows for concentration and critical thinking.

During the festive season or while on holiday our digestive system can become overloaded by eating late or eating more than we usually do.
As impurities from incomplete digestion (called Ama) accumulate then energy levels, mental clarity, mood, ability to digest what is eaten and elimination can be impacted. Ayurveda explains that good health depends on a strong and efficient digestive system along with proper daily elimination.
